What requirements must a cash register fulfil?

What hardware do I need?

The core is a tablet. An iOS or Android tablet can be used. We recommend a powerful iPad of the latest generation. You can expand our POS solution with a barcode scanner, card terminal or receipt printer.

Is a cash register compulsory in retail?

In Switzerland, as in Germany, there is no legal obligation to use cash registers. The only requirement in Switzerland is that proper bookkeeping must be done. In Austria, the cash register and receipt sharing obligation for cash receipts has been in effect since 2016. Businesses are obliged to use a cash register if their annual turnover exceeds € 15,000 and their cash turnover exceeds € 7,500.
